Always imagine being on a wooden ship out there I imagine that would have been terrifying for them back then. Not realizing that they were sailing into a hurricane. They should have used wxsphere back then. 2

RTC3-LAST CHANCE
I have numerous friends at my golf club that are snow birds. Many have cancelled their property insurance due to exorbitant prices. Last 2 years storms hurt. Now with these 2 monsters , the insurance industry down there is in extreme peril. Couple that with the humongous condo fee increases due to all condos etc having to do serious structure upgrades - created by the horrible condo collapse a few years ago ad, Florida is going to experience a lot of change in the years ahead. A huge inbound state may soon become an outbound state. Many of my friends are fed up , and the ever increasing traffic ain’t helping. The warmer oceans ain’t helping either.

Moderators StretchCT Posted October 10 Author Moderators Share Posted October 10 Alright. Back from the hospital. Some more rain totals in excess of 10" and it's still raining. Winds aren't cat 3 but still pretty solid. If you look at some of the reporting stations they went hours in between 50-80 mph sustained.
Moderators StretchCT Posted October 10 Author Moderators Share Posted October 10 (edited) The flood gauge is pretty far up the river in Ft Myers and is in major flood range. Surge is 5-6 feet there. Winds are still westerly at 30-40mph This is way easier to do on the laptop than the phone. Winds are just picking up there and are out of the west so the surge should increase still.
