Vort message highlights: 899mb, closed circular 4nm wide eye, no sfmr this mission, flight winds in 155mph, flight winds out 185mph. Temp inside the eye is a balmy 27C.  I don't recall seeing 27C (81F) inside an eye before.  Outside the eye its 13c.  Quite a difference in temp.  Usually its like 13 to 19c.  No mention of missing the eye.

One of the weather channels was mentioning this afternoon about some cold air coming in on the southern part of the storm, causing a look of some decay there, but said it could be a double - edged sword depending on timing, if it occurs. Could cause some explosiveness with the cold/warm air dynamics.

They were in the eye...just not the center.
