Hone has formed in the Central Pac.  Been watching this develop for a few days and it finally made it.

Don't think it will be that strong enough to get to hurricane, despite its robust appearance. But it does put Hawaii into play with the current consensus being a track just to the south of the Big Island.

Hone looks like it's headed to the Big Island.  Models and official forecast say otherwise, but HMON is close.

1. There is the potential for excessive rainfall and flash flooding
on portions of the Big Island of Hawaii starting this afternoon and
continuing through Sunday as a large area of moisture associated
with Hone moves through. The heaviest rainfall will likely occur
over windward and southeast facing slopes.

2. Tropical Storm conditions are expected on the Big Island,
beginning as early as this evening and continuing through early
Sunday. Winds are expected to be strongest downslope of higher
terrain, over headlands, and through passes.

How this works out is fascinating.

I always think EXTRA tropical means more than tropical.  Like extra large is more than large.  Not sure why they use that term instead of post tropical.
