NAM3k goes easy on the SE with only 10-15 inches, but widespread

Going out to 84, the NAM has up to 26" but most of the double digit rainfall is closer to the coast.

Graphcast from 12z is less enthusiastic. This was the model touted recently.

Good thing this won’t have much time to go crazy. Hopefully it doesn’t strengthen much more overnight

OK, how has the thread creator not changed the title to Debbie Downer? C’mon man. I get it’s off season, but still. This puppy may only go from the Fla/ Geo border to the SC/NC border in a time loop of about 3 days!

I guess it goes in the books as a cat 1 for this landfall. I expected more out of it so I guess they don't all blow up like crazy, just most of them.  I can't wrap my head around how this thing managed to find some dry air in the middle of the Gulf of mexico. Needle in a haystack stuff.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter because Debbie is going to be one for the history books just for the flooding. It's going to destroy coastal GA and SC just with biblical flooding it looks like unfortunately. And who knows what other surprises down the road. And we are just getting started.

I was hoping it hit Destin or Deland so then I could say Debby does Destin.  If Debby were to stay a min trop storm then I like the Debby Downer.

What a unique, dangerous setup for flooding. A tropical system trapped between a high to the west and the never ending Bermuda high to the east. Nowhere to go.
(Wipes shaving cream from his face and says “ It would be a disaster of epic proportions. It would be The Perfect Storm”.)

Yeah seeing forecasts of up to 30 inches of rain for Noethern Georgia and South Carolina. Crazy.

Currently cutting through Florida now from Jacksonville. Sisters flight was cancelled and she was going to drive to Atlanta and get a flight out of there. Our flight didn’t leave until 9:49 tonight but we didn’t want to wait all day for our flight to potentially be cancelled anyway so we decided to drive home. Met up with my sister and we’re gonna drop her off in Atlanta and then keep it pushing back to Cincy.

Not as familiar with Georgia and Carolina’s , but most coastal areas don’t handle water too well. Just got back from 2nd OC, MD trip, and heavy drizzle causes flooding there.

In my mind, the perfect storm burned him out so he left meteorology and started hitting golf balls. That's the backstory of where shooter mcgavin came from.

That part of the southeast coast is basically a swamp. They built it on top of a swamp. And so it handles 20 inches of rain about how you would expect from a swamp.

I’m glad we were leaving today anyway because where we were near Brunswick Georgia it looks like it’s been raining heavy for hours there and it won’t stop anytime soon. I would love to see a radar with qpf amounts.

Currently right here and it’s just raining lakes worths of the water and it looks like I’ll be in the deluge for quite a while.
