Center just south of Carriacou

I was wondering… the floating satellite is a bit south of the center so the images to appear further north…

This sfmr seems out of whack.  I know sometimes getting close to land can throw things off but I can't remember seeing a 172mph sfmr reading before.

edit. there's a 163 and 168mph on either side to support it. We MAY have a Cat 5

I do not see this weakening much do to land interaction.

In fact, it appears the physics of the land may be assisting into further tighten and strengthen the core.

Southern edge of Grenada has seen 55mph winds so far.  Erika's station on Union Island north of Carriacou hasn't reported since 10:15 peaked at 53mph.

They updated the advisory after they considered that new info from the AF hunter pass.

If Beryl becomes Cat 5, it would be the earliest recorded in the Atlantic.  Supplanting Emily from July 16, 2005.  (Yikes, another reference to the historic 2005 season)

Looks like they found a lower pressure, and two wind speed readings again over 157mph.

Latest vortex message has 948 and 161 sfmr winds.

NHC saying 946.  Holy winds. Too bad the surface wasn't there.  Missed by 60ft.

When we were in Jamaica, there was a storm system that blew in while we were trying to go ATV'ing. It unfortunately canceled the tour because the rain/thunder/lightning/wind was so suddenly severe and long-lasting. On the shuttle trip back, we passed a plethora of uprooted trees and road flooding. And this was just a random summer thunderstorm that lasted about 45 minutes.

I REALLY don't want to think about what Beryl just did to those islands.. and what it's going to do to Jamaica. Yikes.
