Mesoscale Discussion 1002
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0926 PM CDT Sun May 26 2024

   Areas affected...Central/East-Central into Northeast AR

   Concerning...Tornado Watch 320...

   Valid 270226Z - 270400Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 320 continues.

SUMMARY...New development may occur across central/east-central into
northeast AR. The environment is supportive of supercells and
convective trends are be monitored closely. An expansion of ongoing
Tornado Watches or a new Tornado Watch may be needed if trends
   merit.

DISCUSSION...Recent satellite imagery shows greater vertical
development within the cumulus over central AR, with radar returns
increasing in this area as well. This appears to be related to a
modest area of low-level confluence ahead of the primary wind shift
which remains farther northwest. The 00Z LZK sounding sampled a very
unstable airmass, with MLCAPE over 3500 J/kg. Strong vertical shear
extends across the region as well, with the 00Z LZK sounding
sampling 55 kt of 0-6 km bulk shear and the recent LZK VAD sampling
over 30 kt of 0-1 km bulk shear. These environmental conditions are
more than sufficient for robust updrafts and supercells if dry-air
entrainment can be overcome. Convective trends will be monitored
closely and an expansion of ongoing Tornado Watches or a new Tornado
Watch may be needed if trends merit.

 Mesoscale Discussion 1003
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   0936 PM CDT Sun May 26 2024

Areas affected...portions of southern Indiana and northern Kentucky

   Concerning...Tornado Watch 324...

   Valid 270236Z - 270330Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 324 continues.

SUMMARY...A well-developed bow echo will approach the Louisville
metro in the next hour. Significant damaging winds (75+ mph) are
   possible along with QLCS tornadoes.

DISCUSSION...The ongoing MCS over portions of the lower OH Valley
has continued to intensify this evening. The northern most segment
of the line has shown indications of a surging rear-inflow jet
across southwestern IN. Observed 70-80 kt velocities at 2-3km ARL on
the KVWX VAD lend high confidence to significant damaging wind
potential with the apex of this bow over the next 1-2 hours.
Experimental WOFS guidance also lends high confidence to strong
damaging wind potential with this feature. With an estimated forward
speed of 45-50 kt, damaging winds (some 75+ mph) will approach the
Louisville metro and southern IN within the next hour. QLCS
tornadoes are also possible given large low-level ESRH of 300-400
   m2/s2.

Is the line splitting? Hope I don’t get the split

Doesn't look too terrible out west in IN. We'll get some rain from the cold pool I would think.

The storms earlier didn’t give me anything so I’m looking for some lighting and maybe some gusty winds. If I can get that I’d be happy.
