April 23-May 5, 2024 | Multi-Day Severe Weather/Tornado Outbreak

Recommended Posts

This storm may have developed a lot of outflow. Not sure if it will regenerate a tornado. Maybe

On another note, I think we may need a May 6-8 discussion

Not sure if that was outflow or just a really wide RFD, looks like it's going to drop again if it ever lifted.

Calculated a 75kt vrot on Radar Omega. That may not seem high compared to what we've witnessed recently, but it's still a high end vrot. Just goes to show how insane it is to have multiple storms have vrot over 100kt.

Next week is looking crazy. Has the potential to be the biggest outbreak of the year over more populated area which is not good

I believe it tracked 1+ miles NNW to almost downtown Robert Lee, that is, after it moved SE. It seems to be truly weird, but then again, tornadoes can have motion into the rainy area when they occlude.

Definitely one of the crazier occlusions i've seen but that's definitely what it was. Texas doing Texas things I guess lol

There is a strong difference between easterly low level winds and westerly upper level winds. This is the sort of thing that's possible in the Southern Plains but doesn't happen towards the north half of the country. Could be up to 370 storm relative helicity near the storm (with normal storm motion computation.)
