That is a drastic, and I mean drastic, upgrade.  Hopefully that crap doesn't pan out.  Wow!

I'm trying to figure out the timing on when the tornados might occur, but radar is not seeming clear. Can you all help?

The greatest risk, which will include potential for a couple of
intense/long-track tornadoes, should begin across Indiana, and the
spread across Ohio through the afternoon and evening, potentially
reaching as far east as western portions of West Virginia and far
western Pennsylvania into the evening. Eastward advance of the risk
into central Pennsylvania will likely remain limited, but otherwise
threat may spread into western portions of Virginia and the
   Carolinas late.

I saw that.. was looking for fine-tuning. I really don't want to be stuck at school. 😞

Forecast soundings and just the overall setup tomorrow are very ominous.  Definitely looks like a day where higher end tornadoes (EF-3+) are in play.

Is there no chance the rain overnight and tomorrow morning stabilizes the atmosphere here?  I want no parts of that.

There is, in my opinion. but the trend has been the opposite, the failure mode is still there but the ceiling for tomorrow is pretty damn high.

Yeah that's definitely a possibility

That's wild!

How do you get it to zoom into the region on the NOAA Storm Prediction Center site?

Local Mets here say between 4-9PM. So maybe 5-10 for the central part of the state?

I'd say that's a safe bet. 12Z HRRR has the line of cells crossing the IN/OH border around 5PM

  • The title was changed to March 21-?, 2024 | Severe Weather/Potential Tornado Outbreak

The 18Z hrrr looks better for those of us in central Ohio.  Pray to God we go in that direction.

Edit:  Maybe spoke too soon?

Just got back to Norman, tornado watch up now. Expecting monster hail, and maybe a few tornadoes here and there. Already some severe warned cells to the north from the initial wave.

Fully agree with the upgrade to moderate for tomorrow, it's been a while since I've seen this favorable of an environment in Ohio

Still looks pretty rough unfortunately and maybe two rounds of severe weather?
