Wnwniner
I'm thinking of putting the plows and salt boxes away for the season, and letting the crews go back to day shift instead of being on mandatory 3rd shift for winter season. We typically don't come off winter shift until at least mid March, but thinking we can come out now. That should surely help us get some snow, right?????

Winter is over, if it even ever really started.

Pghsnow
https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2023/02/09/polar-vortex-sudden-stratospheric-warming/ “Any direct significant impacts on the weather are typically delayed following the warming by a week or two as the signal propagates into the lower stratosphere, so we’d be looking at early March,” Lee said. It will probably be at least another week or so before any potential impacts at the mid-latitudes can be ironed out. “Usually we can make the first more reliable predictions only starting around the time when the sudden stratospheric warming happens,” Domeisen said. “For North America, these predictions are even more difficult than for Europe.” Edited February 10, 2023 by Pghsnow

This SSW could still be a cold west pattern that bleeds east from time to time 2
