That would be music to this ice fisherman's ears! A few days of subzero temps would set us up quite nicely for the season.

Also, someone on a different forum mentioned that the 12z GEFS has the source region reloading for more prolonged cold through possibly January for the Plains.

Sorry guys you must not have heard. Those temps are not possible. It does not get cold in December anymore. So disregard.

Would like to have that area from Iowa to N. Ohio fill in a bit, but really can’t complain about that right before Christmas! Would make most people happy on here.
