Early January would make sense with the current SSW we're seeing. It's going to take a bit for models to catch up with what's going on too. Is there a legend for the temperatures? Trying to figure out how far below normal that is. Looks extreme.

According to expert Simon Lee its not a true SSW yet. It is a disruption & it does weaken circulation which might help for a true SSW later this month but not one yet.
