Trying not to bite on the ECMWF bringing so much QPF up this way.  It is often too generous.

SREFs are basically feast or famine, more famine though.

The first image is basing it on any type of precipitation?  Rain, snow, sleet, mix?

Sorting out changes in Euro.

At hr 24, the low itself is pretty close to the prior runs.  The shortwave over MN is further north, the 534 height is further north. And I'm looking at the 552 height line in Illinois which also moves north.  Again, this is before the ULL actually is further north.

At 48 hrs, the ULL still is in a similar area, though the 549 height line is further north.  This could be positional, or it could just represent that it's weaker. Looking at the ULL over Canada, those height lines shifted north. And the the 552 line that runs across NJ you can see shifted north.

By 72, you can clearly see our main ULL is further north. Pay attention to the steering mechanism behind it over the Lakes and the position of the ULL in Quebec, both of which are tilted back now, raising heights and allowing the storm to come north.

Just liquid equivalent. It says nothing of precip type.

HVSnowstorm..

I was just going to post that. Good for you. The county (Greene) that borders my county to the south is in it. Just not north enough for us. At least for now.
