cutoff -neutral -

go on and pick it apart ........PLEASE!

Ok, i’ll tee it up. At least the omega block exists still, but the breasts seem more saggy. Alas , it is older now. This may help it go more neutral , and hopefully negative in time. However, i do think se should call in our resident expert on this. Yep , paletitsnow.
is that what you were looking for?

Don't we love these events where all the teleconnections are favorable and the set up is straightforward?

I want to take Dad's dollar this year. Yes, I realize that is small of me.

We, like our models, always want to rush things.

Still worried  that if this magic act does occur, do we have the cold source in time. We suck at that.

I pushed over a few scrub back yard trees with my Kubota today. It was easier than cutting them down.

Norton

For next week, more of the same with high pressure remaining
centered to our northwest and the low well offshore. The uncertainty
increases beyond Sunday, though, regarding the eventual track of an
ocean storm that moves out of the southeastern U.S. and either out
to sea or northwest toward our eastern waters. Ensembles show a wide
range of low center tracks, but the vast majority are well to our
south, so odds of any impact from this storm are minimal at this
point in time.

Norton late afternoon update

Quote
Precipitation...mean trough axis remains well east of New England,
promoting mainly dry weather. Although, we will have to watch how
far west closed low over the northwest Atlantic retrogrades next
week. Some ensemble members have warm advection aloft wrapping
cyclonically around the mid level low (TROWAL - TRough Of Warm Air
Aloft) into eastern New England. While other members keep any precip
offshore. The other chance of precip will be ocean effect snow
showers across coastal southeast MA, as low level cold air is
delivered via NNE flow. Otherwise, mainly dry weather prevails this
period.

Holly continuing poo-pooing. Completely expected, as they never limb it this far out. I do luv that they were originally expecting clouds from it, wow. How would we know the difference? Maybe that shroud of clouds would be lower level clouds that would fit under the other 2 permanent cloud layers.

I always liked it better than Dark Side of the Moon anyway.

The Eastern trough is tilted more neutral on Doorman's post. Could this be the beginning of the SPV lobe disruption to set up the colder stormier pattern the last half of February.

Omega  block still has to play out though. Many times, one end of it doesn’t hold up its end. Let’s see.
