State College has issued a Winter Weather Advisory regarding this event for at least Tuesday. Will Der Bingle lag again? They do have an Ice Accumulation Risk map, but have been very conservative lately with their WWAs. Screenshot_20240122-103137.png

Couple tenths of qpf, should be a decent glaze.  Ain't going to have any problem instantly freezing, was 6-10 degrees this morning and below freezing during the day.  3k keeps things interesting for a long time around North Central PA.. very near 32 all about.

Drizzle here in CT. Temps on Wunderground in my area are 36-38.  I'm at 37.  Maybe once the precip becomes heavier it will cool a bit, but seems like it's a long way to go.

Got a WWA surprisingly. They only had the hilly western county included this morning. It started as a bit of snow but now just very light rain. Once the precip gets going I think we'll switch back to snow.

It was supposed to switch back to snow for us in north central PA, but never did.  The radar showed heavy snow, but it was cold rain here @1400ft.

I never understand that modeled forecast  .. freezing rain change to rain change back to snow when the storm is to our west.  Made no sense at a glance.  I guess mother nature agreed.

Snowing at a pretty good clip here, I'm liking it. Thats great you at least getting some of the white. Salted roads starting to get snow covered

Only the untreated surfaces and snow or ice are covered with freshies. But it’s coming down harder now after a brief mix and snizzle.

Picked up 1.75" in the overnight hours. Was coming down as big fat flakes when I woke up at 6:45. By the time pulled out to make the trip to drop kids at school at 7:30, it had switched over to a freezing drizzle and temps were at 29F. Temps now up to 33F and radar has dried up, which is fine by me. Commute to and from school wasn't a white knuckler, but it wasn't great either.
