Interestingly, it make a bit of a hybrid out of this system - at least so far as there is a piece that first goes up W of Apps, then it all rejoins at DelMarva. 

It's also way faster which we might expect due to the more ideal storm consolidation initially. 

Certainly an interesting wrinkle.

You can see Ike (Icon) "open the door" over New England for the shortwaves to come right up. (see final frame of GIF). On other models, that line of confluence remains in an / orientation across New England and forces everything south and east.
