Doing some 0z real-time vs 18z NAM compares.. it's pretty darn close.  850 0c line, H5 .. if I was super picky, I'd say obs is digging a little deeper down south, and maybe the 570 line is a few miles west off the coast in obs.  /shrugs

Looks like the radar is showing returns for snow as far south as northern Georgia.  Anyone here of someone seeing flakes yet?  The radar up this way shows possible snow in the western Adirondacks.

Looking for winds. CT coast is pretty quiet.

NY had a few stations with higher gusts.

Jones Beach is in the mid 30s for gusts.

Mamaroneck had a gust into the 40s

In NJ, Sea Bright FD has a report of a gust in the 50s, which lacks support from surrounding stations, but could be positioned in a way to be resembling reality.

IBSP had winds in the mid 30s.

Sedge Island at 39mph

Beesleys Point in the low 40s. That's mainland from Ocean City NJ

Cape May in the 30s

Further north, Block Island is gusting in the 40s.  Woods Hole is 25/35

From the NWS site, a look at eastern LI sound, which has some interesting reports in it.  We just had a pretty strong gust here, just one though. There are branches down everywhere, so maybe with one of these downpours the winds are being dragged down.

Looks like some was using a leaf blower around 3:30 or so

Here is a link to a live webcam at Wisp Ski Resort in Garrett County MD. It looks like they’re getting into the snow now with NWS forecasting 3-6 inches.

Those flakes don't even look wet and heavy.  Maybe the will outperform with higher ratio snow.

That webcam provides two different views of base of resort. In the one view you can see the snow coming down at a decent clip. Hoping we can see a little of this further east.
unfortunately webcam snow is how I see most of my snow. lol

I assume a place with "port" in their name isn't high in the mountains.  Maybe this year will be a good snow year for your area.

Correct, Willy-port MD isn’t in mountains. I’m a half mile up from the Potomac River, near mile marker 100 on C & O Canal.
The webcam at Wisp is about 80 miles to my west up in the mountains. They easily get 4x the seasonal snow that I see. When you don’t have snow, webcam snow is all you got.
