The "Convective Chronicles" youtube video says maybe the convection-allowing models are under-doing the amount of storms for tomorrow. So maybe the slight risk won't be so boring. Some of the 00z convection-allowing models have a dominant supercell in eastern Nebraska. (a change from 12z I believe.) Maybe there could be more supercells than that.

with the winds in the Plains tonight, it's still 71-74 degrees in Kansas.

Other than several weak tornadoes in Nebraska

Those were brief tornadoes, and not too much on the hail/wind. Also note: tornadoes in FL on Wednesday/Thursday at about or after midnight, one was a waterspout that came right in to a beach by Clearwater.

Looking forward to this coming pattern. I've been told that the keys to getting a good rain event around here is...

1) An eastern Pacific TS moving northeast into Mexico and the southern Plains, bringing mid-level moisture with it (first image)

2) South/southeast low-level flow to bring in low-level moisture (second image)

3) A trough that dips down into the vicinity of Las Vegas (third image)

Got all the pieces coming together. Should be good for at least a decent rain event. Severe weather potential TBD, lapse rates look pretty pathetic.

Hit a high of 81 degrees today, one degree shy of a record(1963).

Nice little return to summer with the fall peak colors ongoing.

well, this would probably go in the weather observations thread, but...

Toledo had a high of 81, only one degree from the record of 82!

It's officially an Indian summer as it was 32 yesterday and definitely over 70 today.
