It's gusting up here to about 30 mph now.

The center of circulation crossed directly over Yarmouth at 12:10 PM. It's still moving slow. It will get back out over water and then into New Brunswick , which will take about 6 hours (for what is left of the core) transiting the Bay of Fundy per current projections.

Almost 100k without power.

On a side note I love how fast the NHC dumps a storm once it is technically extra tropical.

Still has 75 mph winds...but not our problem. The WPC and SPC people have you covered. Have a nice day!

Wow that's close to a no call.  Yarmouth.

I saw the landfall post on social media...but looking at the official interactive tracking graphic it does't look like the center passed over land. Although to be fair, I guess extra tropical lows don't make landfall so it is a curiosity more than a technical determination.

I don't think it is making the turn as quickly as the GFS projected and is more in line with the ECMWF, which would translate into more rainfall in northern Maine.

Edit: The Weather Channel now has a chyron saying Lee has made landfall, so I guess someone did make that determination.

Maple tree along driveway snapped off about 30' up. The broken part is hung up in the adjacent trees. Crap, I hate it when this happens. I will have to chain (100') to the tractor and cut the tree just enough that it can be pulled over by the tractor while I watch from a distance. BTW, the winds might have been 50+mph this afternoon. Things are settling down now.

I have to apologize for my slander of the hard working folks at the NHC. They actually are continuing updates, probably because of the significant impacts ongoing.

Currently at ~ 1" which means the last GFS and NAM run before the first raindrop are exactly right if it stops raining immediately. Otherwise...the HRRR and ECWMF are going to be in the running for best precip forecast imby.

Hehe.

Looking at the forecast discussion, I see where I made my mistake.  The storm is currently post-tropical, which means they still issue alerts.  When it becomes extra-tropical and the primary energy source is barioclinic, it is no longer part of their forecast domain. That is predicted to happen in 12 hours.

I am never visiting that place, however you pronounce it.

To be fair, there is not really a lot there. I use to visit a couple times a year back when malls were a thing before the age of Walmart/Amazon. Now it's an airport on the way to Baxter north or Bar harbor, midcoast south when I have friends visit and want to see Maine.

Most popular tourist attraction, lol.

They have the amphitheater too now. Not my first choice for a venue, but they get some bigger names.

I actually wasn't aware of that facility. Looks really impressive for a local venue and right on the water.  It's been a bit since I have spent quality time in Bangor. Lived there for a bit in the aughts.  I do know they replaced the Bangor Auditorium a few years back, the arena where every seat in the house had a great view of the roof.😆

I've been avenged!

They shut down the interactive map.

I wanted to see if it was making the turn as the last few sat frames make it look like it it going more north than east.

Pressure is still dropping, albeit slowly.

I know from experience measuring my own rainfall that these digitally derived products are not very accurate...but they actually tend to undercount precipitation. In any event, I'm guessing Jonesport got some rain today.

Barometer still falling and down to 997.6 hPa (although the descent has basically leveled off) and I'm up to 1.65 inches of rain with a healthy band still training. That said, it's starting to show signs of fading out.

Edit: The HRRR was a bit low on the totals (1.5") but I'm very impressed it saw the sharp gradient of the outer bands setting up just to the west of me and it verified.
