At 927 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles west of
Tucumcari, moving east at 10 mph.

THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR AREAS BETWEEN MONTOYA AND TUCUMCARI.

HAZARD...Baseball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
         Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs,
         siding, and vehicles.

Locations impacted include...
Tucumcari.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 320 and 339.
 State Road 104 between Mile Markers 93 and 105.

Very impressive rain rates with the leading line of the MCS sampled at the Dalhart ASOS.

Almost 0.5" in 14 minutes (~2.14"/h)
0.28" in 4 minutes (4.2"/h) (0.07"/minute)

   Tornado Watch Number 241
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   220 PM MDT Fri May 26 2023

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     Eastern New Mexico
     Southwest Texas

   * Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 220 PM until
     1000 PM MDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     A couple tornadoes possible
     Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3
       inches in diameter likely
     Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts
       to 75 mph possible

   SUMMARY...Intense supercell thunderstorms are expected to form this
   afternoon along the higher terrain of southeast NM into southwest
   TX.  These storms will track eastward into a progressively more
   favorable environment for very large hail and a few tornadoes.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles
   east and west of a line from 70 miles west northwest of Tucumcari NM
   to 60 miles southeast of Marfa TX. For a complete depiction of the
   watch see the associated watch outline update (WOUS64 KWNS WOU1).

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.

   AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
   surface and aloft to 3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

* At 1143 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles
  southeast of Elida, or 25 miles southwest of Portales, moving
  southeast at 10 mph.

  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR RURAL AREAS OUTSIDE ELIDA.

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and baseball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

  Southern Deaf Smith County in the panhandle of Texas...

* Until 415 AM CDT.

* At 225 AM CDT, A trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain in Highway 60 between Summerfield and 
  Hereford, TX. The highway is covered in one to two feet of water 
  and accumulating hail in places. Cars have been stranded with 
  passengers needing rescued. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain has 
  fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. 
  Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the 
  warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

I don't have CC on any of my 4 panels most of the time. Working on identifying Zdr arcs/size sorting. But I can turn CC on and smoothing off if a scenario pops up where it's needed.

Cell popped up northwest of Amarillo. About 3000 SBCAPE/1500 MLCAPE and 35-40 kts effective shear. Hodograph favors splitting supercells.

Edit: weakened pretty quickly. Must be just enough of a cap remaining.
