...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 800 PM CDT FOR EASTERN
LEE...SOUTHEASTERN ST. FRANCIS...SOUTHWESTERN CRITTENDEN...WESTERN
DESOTO...NORTHERN TUNICA AND NORTHWESTERN TATE COUNTIES...

At 728 PM CDT, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was
located over North Tunica, or 15 miles northeast of St Francis
National Park, moving east at 50 mph.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado. At 727 PM CDT, tornado on the
         ground 4 miles northwest of Tunica.

IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
         be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
         will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
         businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction
         is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hernando, Hughes, Coldwater, Walls, Tunica, Horseshoe Lake, Pinckney,
Lake Cormorant, Phillipp, Eudora, North Tunica, Arkabutla,
Robinsonville, Newport, Clack, Trinity, Frees Corners, Commerce,
Austin and Peters.

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     Southeastern Arkansas
     Northern and central Louisiana
     Central and western Mississippi
     A small part of east Texas

   * Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 820 PM
     until 400 AM CDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     A few tornadoes possible
     Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2
       inches in diameter possible
     Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

   SUMMARY...Widely scattered severe thunderstorms (with some increase
   in coverage possible) will affect the watch area overnight. 
   Tornadoes, severe hail and damaging gusts are all possible.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles
   east and west of a line from 20 miles southwest of Fort Polk LA to
   25 miles north northeast of Greenwood MS. For a complete depiction

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.

   surface and aloft to 2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

Wonder what kind of winds we'll get here with the line moving in from the west.  Currently warned for up to 90 mph, but we've been having heavy rain so wonder if there may be just enough of a stable layer near the sfc to take a bite out of the intensity as it moves in.  Guess we'll see.
