.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/...
A relative lull in precipitation will occur through early
evening based on CAM guidance and radar trends. However, a
strong cold front will approach late, with a strong LLJ
accompanying it into the overnight hours. With 50-60 knot winds
at the 925mb level (and 70-80 knots at around 850mb), it won`t
take much convection to cause strong to damaging gusts at the
surface. Will need to monitor storm mode along with how robust
these showers/storms become and will be prepared for a busy
evening/overnight period.

In addition to the potential for damaging winds, any "wiggles"
in the line of convection along the front could combine with the
background 60-70 knot sfc-3km southwesterly shear to bring an
isolated mesocyclone/spin-up tornado risk.

Temperatures will remain in the 50s to low 60s ahead of the
front, with low temperatures being realized in the cold air
advection behind the front late tonight.
