Can't decide if the NAM is weaker or slower at H5.

Closer to the surface, the 850mb circulation does look to be close to the coast still

Nam does seem to be on the inner and southern edge of the short range envelope, but I do rather prefer the way it handles h5, it looks as how storms of this ilk in the past tend to go.  Surprises will also be had in localized areas

Well the GFS is a solid hit for SNE and even into NYC. Bombing storm will switch that rain to snow just a matter of how quick for areas near the coast. Placement of low is also important. Man this has gotta take the cake though with how this year has been. May see a few flakes best of luck to those up north should be a fun storm.

Ratios looking lower on this one, as mentioned by the NWS earlier.  Heavy wet snow for the tristate and Southern New England.

About 60% more snow on the 10:1 than Kuchera at Oxford.  Bridgeport with a third of the 10:1 snow for the Kuchera snow.  NEPA and Southern Tier don't seem to be as different.   This is just at 84hrs.

GFS ensemble trend.  Note it's 10:1 and a push south the last two. There's probably snow from last night in the earlier runs too which may be inflating north of 84.

BTV released their snowfall map.  It is more of a nuisance snowfall in the northern valley locations but it looks like the southern half of VT and the Adirondacks will get some heavy snow.

Wow some spots looking at 3 feet assuming those are some of the highest peak spots in the state.

The locals at the gas station in Ludlow were all complaining about the upcoming snow.   Wider view of forecast - this is just to 8am though.

Pretty much the same people who have been getting snow all year, are getting snow haha

you could say that...but snows here this year (just like last year) typically have come and gone in maybe 2-3 days. It's actually sticking around currently...as this will be my third snow event in a row...would probably need to go back to '20-'21 winter the last time that happened here. But yeah, southern, and especially coastal mid-atlantic, have been getting screwed over by the extremely warm ocean temps
