I think like 8 gfs runs have had it now, here is last 6

I see a 17-19 thread but that seems like frontal passage and far north.   The real magic would be the miller A that follows.   The Mjo can cause sone crazy things

I saw that threat too and it caught my eye. NAO staying close to neutral, favoring slightly negative. Atmosphere’s memory of La Nin~a quickly fading. Will look closer at height anomalies later today.

26F, snowing moderately, haven’t measured yet. Windy!

@TheRex text just came from friend "Inbounds slide just now at BV. On closed terrain, friend triggered the entire upper Wilderness lift line. 10" corwn and 30' wide. Ran for a few hundred feet."

Bolton is kind of a box canyon and the Wilderness area is all the way to the north and gets quite a bit more snow than some of the lift areas further down the mountain.  Surprised to hear about a slide but not shocked.  I hope everyone is ok.

can see that meso band stretching from Burlington area arcing just west of Albany and to the Catskills....guessing some intense rates under there.

That was the band over us for awhile and I'd estimate we got about 3" in an hour.  Flakes were huge and they accumulated quickly.  Wind has picked up here a bit and flake size is much smaller now.  It was nice while it lasted.

I drove to pick up my son from work at noon and it happened to coincide with the meso band overhead.  It was the worst driving conditions I've driven since we moved here over 7 years ago.  Cars were off the road all over the place.  I have a AWD Pilot with big knobby snow tires on it I bought at the beginning of the season and I could hardly keep the car on the road.  The snow was so slick that gravity would force the car in directions I didn't want to go.  No plows had been out, as it seems they were caught off guard with such intense snow.  I took my son out to lunch and gave the plows an hour to make the rounds.  Roads are better now but still very slick.

Schools are in session here so I hope they can get enough salt and sand down to give a little traction on the roads.

Snowfall map as of 7 am this morning for VT and surrounding areas.  I won't be surprised to see some areas with 3 feet of snow from this storm once it is all finished in done.

I'm in that sad little area surrounded by amazing bands here in the CT river valley. This morning was wild though, tree's were snapping everywhere so I guess we got lucky here. Still hoping for some more snow before all is set and done.

Wind picking up on the ridge.  Snow is briefly been lighter. Sun poking through and melting it. Temp up a few tenths.

LI looks like the place to be for snow now.
