Moderators telejunkie Posted March 4, 2023 Moderators Share Posted March 4, 2023 just home and a solid coating down...winds are whipping, gusting 20-30mph. Currently 29F out there. Expecting a more subdued storm here on the west side of the Green Mtns.... 2

TheRex
Snow has started here at 11:30 pm. Temp jumped from 27F to 31F in minutes as a westerly wind kicked in with the snow. Hoping we get to the forecast 7"-8".

Moderators telejunkie Posted March 4, 2023 Moderators Share Posted March 4, 2023 Should have stuck with my initial hunch, maybe 2” down, if that, and sounds of sleet. Let’s see if a 4” signature storm is out of reach…
TLChip
1.5" of rain for this one, 41 currently. Looks like we picked up more winter debris to clean up… couple decent sized branches down. Edited March 4, 2023 by TLChip 1 1
Admin MaineJay Posted March 4, 2023 Author Admin Share Posted March 4, 2023 Moderate snow, at least 6" down. Only 20-24" left of my 4 foot fence left. There have been years where my dogs could simply step over it. It's pretty packed on the inside, but they'd sink right down on the other. Wind is able to clear the trees a little, so not crazy sticky. 28.9° Getting crushed to my north, would not be surprised if Sunday River is close to a foot already. Looks like 2-4"/hr type stuff up there. 1
tool483
I think we got a good 4-5, still snowing...mixed with sleet just a little bit but ratios were/are pretty low. Starting to get colder out there, and windy.

Moderators StretchCT Posted March 4, 2023 Moderators Share Posted March 4, 2023 1.05 inches of rain. Quite a bit of sleet and wet snow last night. Not sure when it changed over to just rain but it went from 34 to 36 between 2am and 3am. Woke up to drizzle. Seems over. 37°.
Moderators telejunkie Posted March 4, 2023 Moderators Share Posted March 4, 2023 Power back on. Well…my initial “windshield report” was way off…but to my credit, I can still grass on my front lawn (south side of house) while there are 2’ drifts on the north side. Took a hike and found about 8” in the woods. 2 1
Admin MaineJay Posted March 4, 2023 Author Admin Share Posted March 4, 2023 29.7° Mod-Heavy snow. Haven't really tried to measure, but guessing we are approaching double digits now. Not really worried about ground water getting replenished this spring.
TheRex
I have measured 5" here of very heavy snow. Ratios must have been low. Our low was 29F and it is currently 36F. We are still under a Winter Storm Warning until 7 pm as BTV says we could see another few inches later this afternoon as the low moves away.

Moderators telejunkie Posted March 4, 2023 Moderators Share Posted March 4, 2023 Guess I pissed off my plow guy or something because he's a no-show this morning. Shoveled half my driveway out and was able to put the hammer down and get the car out and back in. Turning it back around took some patience and some rocking....one place it's nice to still have a manual transmission. That is some seriously dense snow....definitely below 10:1 ratios. Temp currently at 33F with just some lingering snow showers. 1
