White Thanksgiving though. Pretty rare these centuries.

Seems everyday there is another news story about some type of threat that could result in widespread power outages, coronal mass ejections, terrorist attacks, etc.  That is my fear, we finally get the winter storms to thrill all the snow lovers here, while we are all going old school reading actual books by candlelight, nothing but a fireplace for heat and having to talk to people face to face for any social interaction.  I suspect that could make for difficult times, not to mention no chance to follow the tracking here 24/7 for days prior, freaking out over the clown maps, and watching Snobal throw in the towel after someone proclaims the sun angle will kill all chances for snow.

We would adapt back to the old ways the same way we adapted to the new ways. Adaptability is the hallmark of the human species.

I'm not so sure the new ways are the better ways honestly. Even if it is what my weak ass is used to.

Absolutely.  The old ways may be just what we need, but damn, getting my old weak ass through the pain of that learning curve and toughening up may be more fun than I am ready for in the mildest of winters.

We got a nice little winter teaser here yesterday - 3-4" of snow in the Milwaukee metro area.

Now we enter the late fall doldrums where I impatiently await the arrival of winter that likely won't come until very late December.

One fun fact to add here...this was the 2nd "White Halloween" we've seen in the past 5 years, which is more than the number of White Christmas' we've had in that same period (1 - last year, just barely).
