HVSNOWSTORM
Hoping thr CMC track is correct but I'll even take a front a end thump the euro is advertising before a changeover at this point. Canadian mean and Gfs mean snow:

Admin MaineJay Posted January 18, 2023 Admin Share Posted January 18, 2023 6z GEFS. P12 is funny Seems like this storm is dragging some warm up in front. 0°c at H8 seems further north than one works expect with some tracks, but we are still trying to beat it back. JDClapper
Updated Sate College discussion. Definitely fair to lean on the light/moderate side VS some of the digital jackpots being created. Longer range guidance tracks another southern stream shortwave toward the area from the southern plains late in the weekend, with varying degrees of phasing with the northern branch of the jet indicated by model guidance. The 12Z ECMWF is most aggressive with the phasing and tracks an intensifying surface low just south of Pa late Sunday, a scenario that could produce a significant snowfall across parts of the central Pa. However, the bulk of ensemble guidance, which represents the more likely scenario, tracks a weaker southern stream dominant low south of Pa late Sunday into early Monday. This scenario could produce a light to moderate precip event across central Pa with uncertain ptypes, but more likely snow over the north and rain in the southeast. Both the ECENS and GEFS point toward fair weather Monday night/Tuesday, as high pressure builds in behind the departing storm. Low pressure lifting north from the Gulf Coast could threaten the area with another round of precip by the middle of next week.
