Seems south of modeld no?

Kinda, I think, seems like the models had a weak lowv pressure near there that worked up the coast until it took over. Mostly seems a little deeper.

Hires FV3 performing better here.

Wow that's a pretty large difference in 850 temps. How is nam that far off

Not sure, looking at the wind barbs, the SSW winds are actually stronger on the FV3.  My best guess is there's some kind of evapocooling (is this a word?) going on that the NAM isn't picking up on.

Hires FV3 and the NAM can't get their stories straight.  Guess a split the difference approach is most prudent.

Short rangers are starting to light the ridges up down here in hill country. She looks beefier on radar and sure see the reflection on the coast. Someone poke this storm and make it do what it should have.

Seems like the Ohioans are pretty stoked on the other thread.

I think 12k NAM is a tad closer to reality on the H8 temps now with the 12z run, than from what I was seeing earlier of MJ posting.  Maybe reality is a few miles colder, but it's close.  3k NAM too, maybe a little overdone with the warmth in SWPA.
