Meteorologist ClicheVortex2014 Posted January 12, 2023 Meteorologist Share Posted January 12, 2023 (edited) Impressive supercell SW of Birmingham. Velocity signature isn't that impressive, but there's a BWER and a debris signature so I'd imagine the tornado is stronger than the radar is suggesting at this height BWER implies a strong updraft, and we already know there's more than enough shear for tornadoes. Especially in the low-levels. Edited January 12, 2023 by ClicheVortex2014

Chinook
just saw a pic on Ryan Hall's stream of 1.5" hail, probably Alabama. As well, as, of course, this large TDS that has gone for a few miles.

Meteorologist ClicheVortex2014 Posted January 12, 2023 Meteorologist Share Posted January 12, 2023 BWER is right over Selma, but the tornado signature is just northwest of town. Likely still doing damage but it's not going downtown.
