those are purely cumulative snowfall #s recognized by each ensemble member

and just to show how eratic each member is from run to run those far out.....member 29 went from 17'' to nothing. So the point being the ensembles are more for guidance and looking for trends vs. latching on to any individual member

To your point, we went from 1 member having a big snow to 4 having a big hit and another (46) having 6".  The trend is our friend lol.

Why in 2023 are these models so inaccurate?

I have been looking at these weather models since 2009 and actually I don't see a lot of difference, this is 2023, I think the entire operation and function of meteorology needs to be redone and rethought, too many people are dying because of the lack of accuracy and preciseness, it's an f-ing guessing game and in some cases people's lives are on the line.

Time for the ole NW shift 🤞

track isnt too much of the issue here, its completely closed off (and from cold air) in our regions vs. opening back up on the coast. 95% of people will get screwed with a closed low, but the 5% should go and play the lottery because it usually has to work out perfectly

Snow maps of 12z Canadian and GFS remarkably similar.

certainly enough to keep slightly interested for now, but I seriously hate everything about tracking these types of storms, the snow zone is so incredibly narrow and hard to forecast

True….but at least we’re trackin’ during these meager times.

Crazy this far out.  Looks like I could get by with one multi-colored line on my Low Party Tracker, lol.
