junior
Not like you're gonna have a chance to measure anyways in these winds 😆

The issue with Kuchera is that it never peaks, it just goes off into infinity as you get colder lol. IIRC? I couldn't find their curve on Google either but that image was pretty close from memory. SNOWBOB11
I’m looking at the 18z GFS on instant weather maps so I can get the info earlier than pivotal and to me it looks a little SE from 12z.

I am at 75 and it would agree 50 miles or so south and a little east.
Indygirl
Our local radio WIBC, is saying the snow will be in northern Indiana. Basically laughed it off, in my opinion! Just very cold temps. I think that’s wrong for them to blow it off like that! 1

Meteorologist Ingyball Posted December 19, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted December 19, 2022 Well the 18z GFS was a slight improvement from the 12z. From 0.4" of snow to 0.6"

Meteorologist Ingyball Posted December 19, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) This is what being in a drought looks like. Wasting a near perfect storm track for this amount of QPF. Can't even buy a quarter on the GFS lol Edited December 19, 2022 by Ingyball

If you meant IIRC it stands for if I remember correctly I know I'm straying a bit off topic but this is good general knowledge. I found the WPC snow ratio curve in this article. It also has the snow shape chart that many of us have seen. Thus in looking at the snow shape shape (type of snow) chart, it's easier to visualize the "WPC curve" for ratios. https://www.rochesterfirst.com/weather/weather-glossary/snow-ratio-defined-measuring-the-difference-between-fluff-and-sludge/
Meteorologist Ingyball Posted December 19, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted December 19, 2022 Hopefully this thing gets sampled tomorrow and we see QPF jump back up. I'm wondering if the 500 energy looking scattered on the models is the culprit for the dry trend. 1
