Meteorologist MidwestWX Posted December 18, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) Well well well if it isn't our old friend the coastal low. Edited December 18, 2022 by MidwestWX 12z ECMWF
junior
Its definitely not budging towards the GFS this time around. Digging a bit more SW so I'd assume it would end up in the same general area as last run but stronger. Popped a weird strong coastal this run too.
Ohiobuckeye45
Just lurking for afternoon, but my thoughts can be summed up by west she goes but I'm not surprised, I've been mentally prepared for this
Meteorologist Ingyball Posted December 18, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted December 18, 2022 Euro took a step in the right direction for me. Does seem a little dry on that northwest side but the trough itself looks great. 1

Iceresistance
The ECR (East Coast Ridge) is getting stronger each run, which is forcing the system further west.

The Twin Cities had some great wrap around/ULL snows this week so it's not impossible... I'll be completely honest I wasn't expecting much but I measured over 10" in the western metro. It's not ideal but it can happen!
