12z GFS dialed back the +PNA some making it more in line with the previous GEFS some. Still think models are too quick to trend positive with the PNA. It won't happen until after the storm next week so I'm still favoring a suppressed pattern with a storm diving into Texas and then moving northeast after that. Models always underestimate how fast that cold air spills southward in the Plains and end up too far north and east at this range.

Last night's 0z GEPS had a couple good members but especially a 948mb low on Lake Erie.

That would be quite the storm to say the least, lol.  But what the hell, records are made to be broken, right?

FWIW….

As a comparison the Jan ‘78 blizzard hit 957mb in Cleveland.

Here are some non-tropical low pressure records in the region:

*LOWER 48 STATES: 952 mb (28.10”) Bridgehampton, New York on 3/3/1914

MIDWEST: 955.2 mb (28.21”) Big, Fork, Minnesota on 10/26/2010

OHIO VALLEY: 956 mb (28.23”) Mount Clemens, Michigan 1/26/1978
