Ohiobuckeye45
Yeah that western ridge is really starting to screw us over, dead center of the trough north of it is not where you want to be for snow Edited December 16, 2022 by Ohiobuckeye45
Meteorologist Ingyball Posted December 16, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted December 16, 2022 @Ohiobuckeye45 Hopefully this alleviates some of your fears. I have no doubt we'll be going to a +PNA soon but the models have consistently been trying to force it too early. The models are probably overdoing that ridge a bit, it won't be until after this storm that we see that strong ridge develop. (P.S I'm having problems with quoting on mobile.

Meteorologist Ingyball Posted December 16, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted December 16, 2022 Would be heck of a storm on the UK with that temperature gradient but there's no chance the cold is slow enough for us to warm to 50 out ahead of that front.

Mulaman984
Hearing that 00Z GEFS has several (more) inland/app runner solutions. Anyone confirm? Just looking for the trend.

Ohiobuckeye45
The euro is meh. Its a mix between the ICON and UK. It's more of a northern friendly version that hits many fewer members Edited December 16, 2022 by Ohiobuckeye45
Ohiobuckeye45
Looking at UK 156-168 they are actually very similar. The UK is a near washout for most of us where as the euro at least has some backside

Ohiobuckeye45
Ridge is pumping again on the 6z GFS, I suspect we're going back to the glorified clipper scenario. This setup will not allow it to dig in to Texas before moving east Edited December 16, 2022 by Ohiobuckeye45

TheBlizzardOf1978
The moral to the story is! Actually models are all over the place, so don't trust anything you are seeing.
Ohiobuckeye45
This pattern on the GFS drops 3 pieces of energy in clipper fashion, 1 on Christmas eve/day, though I have not seen support from other models on this

junior
Back to the clipper type event. 😂 06z GEFS toned down the ridge out west a bit and is a bit more amplified. Edited December 16, 2022 by junior
