Usually right at the changeover -or beginning of a storm- is when most of the accidents take place.

Most persons either do not feel how slippery the road conditions have become and/or the quick switch leads from wet roads to icy/wet roads and again, persons do not feel how slippery it is.

1 of the hallmarks of changing road conditions is when you are driving and it feels as if you are hovering ever so slightly. Once that happens - persons need to immediately let off the gas, make no sudden changes and -if necessary- downshift to allow the engine to do the braking.

Great info. I Do that often when I’m sliding or hit an oil patch in the rain or sliding on ice. Just let go of the gas and it makes all the difference in the world.

Where are you located.  Looks like it should be here any second.

Just north of Lebanon in Warren County. It’s been sleeting here for about 10 minutes.
