My eyes are on this. Could be just a squall but I’ve seen this kind of progression before, where it seems like a squall but there’s signs that it wants to go into mesocyclogenesis

Took longer than I thought it would but sure enough

A new PDS watch until 2 AM central...

The fact that it's a PDS watch surprised me, but yeah, this is a long duration event. Been going since 12 or 1pm and the newest watch only de-escalated a bit.

South half of Louisiana and the southern half of Mississippi remains largely untouched by convection.

I was looking at 0z soundings before that PDS watch was issued and was kinda surprised by what's upstream.

New Orleans... unseasonably moist low-levels. No doubt that's being advected into the area.

Lake Charles... further upstream but still.

Shreveport

Jackson obviously has been partially overturned by rain/convection in the low-levels, but considering what's upstream, should be able to recover.
