Admin MaineJay Posted November 15, 2022 Admin Share Posted November 15, 2022 Already popped above freezing here. Not really expecting much up my way, Gulf of Maine is still pretty tepid. Thinking as slushy inch that mostly gets washed away. FV3 snowfall, not depth

Moderators StretchCT Posted November 15, 2022 Moderators Share Posted November 15, 2022 Not a lot of forcing at this point of the storm, at least in the DGZ, and temps are marginal, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for some snow before it changes over. NAM on other hand is pretty wacky with multiple warm noses. 0z sounding looks like sleet.
Moderators StretchCT Posted November 15, 2022 Moderators Share Posted November 15, 2022 Not sure you'd normally WWA a 1-2" snowfall, especially after rush hour, but I suppose it's because its the first of the season. Looking in particular at Hartford and Litchfield Cty.

Bradjl2009
I'm liking my chances of seeing snow within the hour here in Pittsburgh. The rain snow line looks to be a good 50 miles south of me to the southwest. How much will accumulate though is the big question. 10:1 amounts look good at least.
Moderators StretchCT Posted November 15, 2022 Moderators Share Posted November 15, 2022 (edited) GFS trolling me right there. What a crazy map HRRR too, though it doesn't seem as nuts. Wondering if some kind of front briefly sets up over me on these. Edited November 15, 2022 by StretchCT 1

JDClapper
These returns look pretty legit though. Perhaps these late minute guidance ramp ups have something to them. I guess we will find out in a few hours.
TheRex
The 12Z Nam wants totaketheheavy stuff to my north while the 12Z GFS wants to take the heavy stuff to my south. They both have me with 2" but looks very different once you go north or south.

The radar is looking amazing upstream, tha ks for confirming its as good as it looks! 🙂 Definitely has that classic look and feel outside, of an incoming snow event. Ever roads getting covered To be fair, the sun angle this time of year is the same as it would be in late January. The thing with November though is usually the ground is nowhere near as cold now as it is then. Score for the short range models. 1
