Radar indicated rain totals are starting to pile up around North Port.

Found this station on the ambient weather network and those totals are confirmed on the ground. A 19.62" event accumulation thus far.

Edit: Scale only goes to 20" and it continues to stack up in the same narrow band 1 hour later.

Did someone get Punta Gorda's 123mph gust?  Naples and Ft Myers airports are N/A.  Actually, I think they're all NA, just hasn't updated at PG yet

Ft Myers went down after a 97mph gust

Is Ian slowing down or have I been looking at this too long (or both)

To me looks like forward movement has slowed.  Would be interesting to have an earlier loop to compare it to.

Wow 40 inches in south punta gorda in such a short time frame?  I can't even imagine.  This is very sad.

There could have been some splash off a house or something for that one.  Seems overdone compared to the surrounding.

On a different note, nighttime is going to be rough for a while.  Dark with a lot of things going bump in the night. I hate nighttime storms.

Growing up, we were at the Jersey Shore, Normandy Beach, at my Uncle's when Belle came through.  We got off the island and to Point Pleasant to my Aunt's house.  There were at least 12 of us hunkered down on the floor as the power went off, transformers popped and random stuff hit the house.
