Some serious snow headed for the peaks of the PNW.  (12-1-23)

Mt. Ranier: 169" (14') to 209" (17') forecasted over the next 4 days.  PLUS more after that!

Mt. Ranier webcams. Still photos that appear to be updated every minute.

It's still piling up on Ranier.  Granted this is 12,000' elevation, but lots of snow nevertheless.  I don't know of any sensors up high to measure the current snow depth.  Paradise Ranger Station, elev ~5,000' currently has 3' on the ground but temps in the low 40s and a melt underway.

Here in St. Louis, we might get these amounts, cumulatively, from now until about 2035.

I followed this account last year with the 60 feet of snow they got.  This is a great video explaining how they move around with all that snow.  How cars are banned, moved to a central location.  Roads aren't plowed, they are groomed. They are running behind this year, but expecting 4-5 feet in the next week.

Where is that?  The Sierra's?

Pretty wild day yesterday in San Diego. Wettest day on record for January, 4th wettest day regardless of month for San Diego proper. No flooding issues for my area, but plenty of issues around the county, including downtown which I don't think I've seen flood to that level before. Seeing some chatter that things are favorable for additional atmospheric river events for the west coast over the next couple of weeks.
