518 PM CDT Fri Jun 24 2022

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Southwestern Grand Forks County in northeastern North Dakota...
  Southeastern Nelson County in northeastern North Dakota...

* Until 600 PM CDT.

* At 517 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located near McVille, or 37
  miles southeast of Devils Lake, moving east at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

  SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Logan Center, Kempton, Northwood and Larimore.

Could be headed toward Grand Forks.

* At 540 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located over Larimore, or 26
  miles west of Grand Forks, moving east at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

  SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* The tornado will be near...
  Arvilla around 550 PM CDT.

Other locations in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm include
Emerado and Grand Forks AFB.

I can see a new MCS about to develop and move more south. The one that's currently moving east is warned for 90 mph winds. Depending on how many wind reports come in, it's been warned for 75+ mph winds long enough that there should be at least 3.

Only fun 0z sounding is far away from the enhanced risk. Topeka. No storms are expected to take advantage of this madness.

Really hard to gauge the actual tornado threat when you're this far away from radar but at the very least, the mesocyclone in the tornado warning is very strong. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near this MCS. Extremely dangerous.
