Meteorologist ClicheVortex2014 Posted May 5, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted May 5, 2022 (edited) It's pulling a 2013 El Reno. Sharp, unexpected left turn but thankfully the tornado isn't rapidly strengthening. Lockett, TX might be in trouble. The tornado signature has moved north-northwest over the past 4 scans or so towards Lockett. Edited May 5, 2022 by ClicheVortex2014

Meteorologist ClicheVortex2014 Posted May 5, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted May 5, 2022 Rotation strengthened a bit before it hit Lockett. I mean, this sucker just took a sharp turn north. Crazy.

Meteorologist ClicheVortex2014 Posted May 5, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted May 5, 2022 Thankfully SPC is talking about the damaging wind threat increasing but I'm not seeing the NW TX supercell going anywhere any time soon due to storm mode changes. Maybe an increasing cap will save the day.
Meteorologist ClicheVortex2014 Posted May 5, 2022 Meteorologist Share Posted May 5, 2022 The ability for this tornado to maintain strength despite heading due north for literally 20 minutes now is insane. Only thing that makes sense to me is a substantial increase in the nocturnal LLJ.
Neoncyclone
Getting confirmation with that tour van, Vince Waelti ended his stream to administer first aid to the people in the tour van, Aaron got out of his vehicle too. Worth noting that Aaron just left so hopefully injuries weren't severe Edited May 5, 2022 by Neoncyclone
