  1. Violent rain and wind band now moving onto south shore of Nassau on LI. Thunder too.
  2. Bad wind and rain on the south shore of LI right now. Appears like its going to last for many hours.
  3. 2.75" of rain here in southern Nassau County. Another messy week of weather ahead. So much for an early spring.
  4. That band extended through to the the immediate coast of southwest Nassau County, my friend in Bayshore got next to nothing and I have 6".
  5. South Shore LI hit hard, 6 inches here. Still light snow falling. Snow isn't as wet and heavy as last storm, should be a little easier to clear.
  6. Should be over in Nassau County LI by around 2PM based on what I see on the radar.
  7. Light snow on the immediate south shore of LI, but still 37 degrees. Not sticking to roads yet.
  8. Indeed, its going to be whiteout conditions. Let's see if they close the LIE tonight. If they don't, look for those pictures tomorrow morning of cars abandoned on the road and everyone walking to that Walmart.
  9. I can tell you that LI is not prepared for any significant snow. Just came home from Ace Hardware and the supermarket - empty. No one out getting supplies and food. Saw no landscapers gassing up at the gas station either. My snowblower did start after almost 20 pulls and fuel priming.
  10. I haven't used that snowblower in 3 years, I hope it starts.
  11. This was a 1" snow for LI an hour ago, now its 6-8"? The official forecasts have not caught up with this, and my snowblower isn't ready.
